Maybe take their wails about terrorism with a decent size pinch of salt. Egyt, Saudi etc have no interest in modernising beyond the appearance of being modern. Behind the scenes it is still patriarchy, rigid control and persecution of minorities.

I'd be interested to know why they are actually pissed off at Qatar though.
