And this folks is how radicalisation works. A prime example of how it is rationalised as well.

"his problem isn't with practicing Muslims." - wanted to address this part in particular. A "practicing Muslim" follows the rules of Islam (like a Orthodox Jewish person following the Torah and Talmud). The rules governing Islam such as eating Halal, marriage, funerals, etc. are known as Shariah. Pretty sure it wouldn't be hard to find quotes/video/etc. of Tommy and mates saying they are against Shariah. Hence he very much has a problem with practicing Muslims.
