There was a story in the news the other day. While I have heard of West Bromwich, I had never heard of a place called Smethwick, located near by.
Google Smethwick and it sounds like a less than desirable place.

Story:
31-year-old man stabbed to death in broad daylight at West Cross shopping centre, Smethwick.
Incident caught on camera. 8 people arrested.

Update 1:
Four men arrested on suspicion of murdering Karl Gallagher in Smethwick are still being questioned by detectives. All four, aged 19, 19, 21 and 20. Meanwhile three men, aged 20, 21 and 22, held on suspicion of assisting an offender and a 24-year-old man arrested on suspicion of obstructing police have all been released under investigation.

Shocking stuff. Google Smethwick, and two other incidents happened on the same weekend. One involved stabbing, the other involved two machete attack’s.
