It tends to ask you before you start Archery and if the game loses communication with the wiimote. You're right though, it doesn't ask very often elsewhere.

It doesn't need calibration during archery - my son keeps starting with the remote pointing at the floor and it works as if he's pointing it straight at the screen.

Thats because it is recalibrating when ever you start the round and press A - you point it at the floor - and it takes that direction as your starting point.

If more games on there did it like that, then no one would notice.
