It's true! Most of the Wii games aren't doing a lot with the motion controls at the moment, resulting in waggling randomly being the core mechanic of most of the titles. |
With a bit of luck this new add-on will actually allow developers to get the motion detection that they were promised with the Wiimote, but that will still require people to code and design games that use it proficiently. The games made so far on the system have been pretty average, and adding a new controller won't make them any better.
The lack of above-average games isn't a complaint only about Nintendo (the PS3 is my favourite bit of new-gen hardware and has the same problem), but they are the only people who seem to be suggesting that their basic input device isn't actually good enough.
