It felt forced, desperate for laughs and completely predictable. You're right on the lack of atmosphere - there wasn't a single point where that was done well enough to make me forget that it was a cheap studio set. Clunes is okay but he's played the role so many times before that I keep expecting him to crack open a beer, and have Neil Morrissey come into his office whining about Debra. Wider shots, more movement and tighter writing would do it wonders. |
