The thing is that Hamilton has a hell of a lot of form for this. He puts his car in a position where he hasn’t a hope in hell of making a clean overtake, but the other driver needs to either take complete evasive action and go off track, or be taken out. Obviously there’s the recent incidents with Albon, then there were a lot of times he ran Rosberg off the road, Nico was generally compliant in jumping out of the way but the one or two times he stood his ground they hit each other. Go back further and he hit Massa six times in one season when they were competing, he hit Webber a bunch too among others, he was pretty well known for his dirty driving. The only reason he’s been relatively clean the past few years is that the Mercedes has been untouchable and Bottas isn’t allowed to race him.
