It's only because it's max and Lewis this is an issue. If this was further down the grid it would be a racing incident officially and no one would be giving it a 2nd thought.

He was comfortably ahead - the fact that Lewis only managed to hit his rear wheel with his front shows that.

He took a wide line in order to give Lewis 2 car widths where there was comfortably enough room if he’d actually taken the apex.

There really is nothing more Max could or should reasonably have done. You can’t just jump off the track every time Lewis is behind you in case he hits you.
