In the UK my iphone 4 battery lasts about 36 hours. In China with data roaming turned off it lasts nearly a week.

I have the 3g and it lasts ages. I'd guess it is some setting.
@zack Turn all communication off and see if it still does it. If so take it back for an exchange. If not turn things back on one by one and you should find the culprit.
