The guys I go away with are all generally cool, but sometimes it would be nice if it were just me. I've traveled on foot/train in Austria and that was lovely, I'd expect the roads are nice too. Eagles Nest? One thing I would say is the push across from Italy into Spain is maybe a big push. Whilst the Pyrenees are lovely, I'm not sure they'd exceed some of the routes in the Alps. In terms of nailing the route down. Again the same as you we get a general idea and then go deep on the roads. Often using Street View just to be sure some of the roads are not goat tracks (we've hit a few in the past and on a fully laden bike it's not fun...). The other thing we do is check out... http://www.bestbikingroads.com And try to include some of these specific routes/roads. A bit OTT but we've managed to get some crackers in. |
