Especially as the phones are still working it's just the image that is showing no signal then it isn't making the antenna just not work.

Doesn't happen on my iOS4 3G. That kind of thing doesn't really look like a software problem, the fact that no input is given to the software, just holding the device triggers it doesn't look good.
