#6548522, By kinggid Xbox 360 with disc read errors - what to do?

My Xbox 360 (Falcon, 2008) is giving disc read errors regularly and I can't install most games to the hard drive now. It's past one year so out of warranty as no RROD. What should I do? I'm not keen to buy a new one unless I have to - can you induce RROD with Falcon models?
