Buy it anyway? There's always time for Souls tomfoolery. I'm still dipping into MGS:V as well as a ton of others. But 9 quid for DS2:SotFS is a bargain that you surely can't ignore. It's got fat hippo cyclopses in it for god's sake, and a talking cat. A talking fucking cat. Haven't seen a talking cat in a game since, well, dark souls 1. But still. You can't beat talking cats. The only thing better than talking cats is a cat that falls off something. It doesn't have that. But the cat talks dammit.
Ah yes, Sweet Shalquoir. I will say I miss the whole power stancing thing from DS2 in DS3 which let you mix and match weapons of the same type but still dual wield them instead of just having a dual wield set.

Also noticed a real lack of 'fun' weapons in DS3. Like the Bone Iron knuckles which gave you basically Heihachis' moveset from Tekken with a hadouken style fireball thrown in. I loved the puzzling shortsword which was a sword that turned into a whip when using the strong attacks (like Ivy from Soul caliber)

However the base game PvE experience in DS2 was jank as fuck though and didn't get good until you added the DLCs
