    Shearer may well be an idiot but he is right in his assessment of Torres' apathy towards getting into scoring positions.

    Obviously playing slightly deeper as a forward (op suggested an AM role too) is different to being given a midfield role - goes without saying. The most successful exponents of the deeper forward role (Premiership) would include Zola, Bergkamp, Cantona, Sheringham, and Beardsley - Torres shows none of the aforementioned's ability to create opportunities, dictate play, and most importantly, LEAD a teams attacking play.
