Yeah, the baksheesh is bizarre. I was in Egypt recently and it was everywhere.

Another thing about Egypt was the sense of humour, they deal with tourists a lot and aren't afraid of making fun of you for not knowing how they do things.

Also they love to haggle, it is just like out of the Life of Brian. I can't imagine how long a weekly shop must take them to do.
