So I'm doing my final year of a CGI degree at Bournemouth Uni and one of our modules is to research a particular topic. I regularly read Digital Foundry articles and the technical breakdowns they post as I consider them a great and interesting read so I've decided to do my research project based on Real-Time Rendering and how Game Engines can render at 60fps where CGI creation tools (such as 3DS Max and Maya) take significantly longer. I wanted to include a breakdown of per-frame rendering budgets and the amount of information a system has to calculate within that 16.6ms, however I've found it hard to find much detailed information on this so I was wondering if anyone knew any resources that I could use to get a idea of how an engine works without getting into really deep and gritty programming jargon. If anyone can point me in the right direction I'll be most grateful |
