why not get a better/lighter folding bike? Then you wouldn't need two wheeled devices :)

My brompton weighs around 9kg, which whilst heavier than a scooter, is much lighter and smaller than the Dahons (I did a quick perusal and they average around 15kg, but not sure if that includes pedals etc)
I use a Mu Uno with a single speed 12T gear, so it's very fast and 9.9kg with 20" wheels. The Brompton steel frame just doesn't fit well with me unfortunately, and also seemed to be a bit heavy when kitted out pushing 11kg. I prefer the quick folding on the Dahon as well. My idea was that I could throw a scooter in my backpack as the 1.5km each way is quite short. Seems excessive to have a bike....maybe I will just park the bike at the station and walk the 500m at the other side!
