Just downloaded the beta but one thing killed my enthusiasm before even starting the game: The CoD style unlocks give you bonus damage and reduced training time for units. Online RTS games have a steep enough learning curve without making more experienced player's units flat out better than new players' ones. A well made RTS has enough depth in just learning the units, strategies and so on. There's no need to add an MMO treadmill. Having said that if these unlocks are only effective in single player or if its trivially easy to unlock everything, then this point is moot. Fingers crossed that's the case. |
