No, they produced less fewer because they thought there would be less demand. Which is kind of a sexist assumption on two levels a) sexist towards girls assuming they would have no interest in SW toys, and b) sexist towards boys assuming they've have no interest in female SW toys.

Oh come on! Its not sexist if its backed up by market research! Its proven historical fact!

They don't just sit in the boardroom and think "Ok we'll have three dozen Reys and 6 dozen Finns".

Granted, they got it wrong, but again, and I need to stress this - they got the demand wrong for figures all the way across the board, be they male, female or whatever the fuck Constable whatshisorherface is.
