@uiruki I had this exact situation recently.... wanted an ultrawide with a proper g-sync chip though, so ended up going for an Alienware aw3420dw, a 3440x12440 120hz screen. There's not a lot of choice really, and yeah as you say, you basically have to pick your compromise. So I decided to just forgo shit HDR altogether and get a (slightly) cheaper screen. Won't be so painful then to upgrade if/when we can get a 'perfect' monitor, with good HDR, dee blacks, etc etc.... basically an OLED, lol. One day. On which note, I watched some reviews of the CX as a monitor and it has its own issues.... too big at 48", a shiny panel, arguably a bit too bright at close range, and text doesn't display as well as on a monitor. But yeah, Rich seems to love it, so it's probably the clear winner right now if the drawbacks aren't dealbreakers for you. |
