The cards I've had were an R9 390 (two at one point actually), a Vega 64 and now a 3080... all pretty power hungry! So I'll probably always go big on the PSU from now on. Nice to have the headroom in case a beefy GPU comes out you want. I've got an 850W now and it seems to be about the right level; comfortably enough, but didn't cost a fortune. Plus I had issues with a PSU in the past - random crashes and whatnot, seemingly due to an inconsistent current - and it was an absolute nightmare to identify the problem. Definitely not something I'd risk skimping on. |
