Hello folks. I'm considering upgrading my PC. It's been around 8 years since I last did it, so as you can imagine I'm virtually a noob in knowing what I should buy in terms of increasing the performance for gaming. Ideally, I'm looking to build a rig that could run Arma II and more specifically DayZ at a decent standard.

My budget is around 450, and in my current rig I have no graphics card because my last one died.

    My current specs are:
    Processor - Intel Core2 Quad Cpu @2.40GHz
    RAM - 3.00GB
    System - 32-Bit Vista.

Would I be able to boost this easily by replacing some of the parts, or would I be better off simply starting from scratch?

    Any advice is greatly appreciated.
    Overclock the C2Q to 3GHz.

Get this Radeon 7870 for 145 delivered.

    Or a 1GB 7850 for about 125.
