| My bank has an annoying habit of stopping 'large' (turns out to be about £500 or so) payments if it doesn't recognise the payee which is a pain in the arse if you try to pay a tradesman with a bank balance transfer. That's one of the few times a cheque is useful as banks trust the superior security of some writing on a piece of paper over a password protected online interface. |
