I'm still addicted to police documentaries, and even though I'm probably a wishy washy liberal, some of the sentences really do seem a joke. 9 month jail sentence for a drug dealer caught with drugs who hit a police officer unconscious and almost took his eye out? WTF?

And worse when you consider they usually only serve half that. I'd massively ramp up violent sentences and scale down other crimes. But I guess it's a system of under funded penal system and money making in fines, rather than a lack of the conservative punishment sentiment, ironically.
