I wouldn't recommend the i5-760. I used to have it and it did it's purpose 2 years ago. If you're on a budget, go for the i5-2500K. If money isn't really much of an object, go for the i7-3770K. That's my current processor and I can't fault it. There are a few other 1155 socket processors (i7-2600K i think?). Either of those, can't go wrong.
Agree with the i5-760 but frankly for gaming, I can't see him getting anything extra off an i5 (or i7) Ivy over the 2500k Sandy. This is even more true if you're overclocking.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but the 2500k is easier to OC than the Ivy CPUs (in terms of maximum GHz), enough so that any performance benefit from the Ivy is lost...And certainly not worth the extra money you'll spend getting one.
You are correct I believe. Thanks for the input, I run the 3770K stock speeds so I can't realy comment on OC'ing Ivybridge but I was pretty jelous of my friends when I was stuck with the 760 and they were achieving amazing overclocks on the 2500K. It's an amazing processor achieving both performance and a good price.
