If Eurogamer does things right then why not just use this site as your news and reviews source? You could just not read the other sites like you wouldn't read The Sun newspaper. Wouldn't a better strategy be to promote Eurogamer as a site that you think is fair and balanced and recommend it to people? I can't see how you can stop other sites from rating a game that you think is bad highly. Surely adding rules for writing about games is a form of censorship - and the worst kind as it'd mean rules against freely expressing an opinion. How do you know if a reviewer who reviews a bad game highly didn't actually like it? Could we start seeing people fired because they really liked The Sims or Call of Duty?

There are newspapers, TV channels, programmes, games, movies, music, books etc that I think are bad or poorly produced. I don't demand someone to regulate the crap, though. I just select what I like or what I think I would like. Who would get put in charge? Who would determine the taste and standard of the regulator? Could the regulator not also be corrupted?
