Women sort of have (a bit) of a problem with women who distance themselves from feminism because, when fighting for equal rights, the people who just sit there and shrug everything off as just being fine can be more damaging to the cause than anything else. Especially in this instance, where these women are being used as an example that everything is fine as it is and we should carry on as normal. There's no dislike for these women, because it's about fighting for their rights too, but many just don't understand what feminism is. It's just about equal rights - why would anyone want to distance themselves from that? |
