Beasts of no nation
Glad I watched this, really enjoyed it. Couple of issues for me being it did feel it was overly long and the boys fall from innocence I felt wasn't handled as well as it could. For all the killing, the impact wasn't explored enough for me.
I don't want that to sound overly negative as I did enjoy it and as a sign of things to come from Netflix, it's hugely positive sign.
Thought it was a brilliant movie. Any movie that makes me feel any sort of emotional connection towards what is being played out on screen is a winner in my books. Agree it did feel a tad too long imo, but to answer your point about agu fall from innocence I think a time line would have helped with that, not to mention how easily kids can be manipulated. Correct me if I'm wrong but they didn't exactly let us know how long he was with them before he went the killing without remorse route( excluding the machete scene). |
