@Psiloc If you haven't yet, you should unlock the Challenge Log (in Limsa, the Drowning Wench). 5 commendations a week will give a chunk of XP, along with a bunch of other stuff like completing 3 dungeons, or doing 10 FATES. Resets every week and is a great source of passive XP, because it just ticks up as you're doing stuff you'd normally be doing (or don't have to go very far out of your way to achieve).

@Graxler - I don't disagree regarding adds, and yeah, I've been in those parties where stuff just isn't handled as it should be. It was just a bit of expectation setting for the early dungeons where mob burning is easy enough.
