I'm fine with that. Sony wants to deliver a platform. What image a publisher builds for themselves isn't Sony's responsibility.

And anyway, they've opened up for a lot of indie self-publishing, so there is potential for publisher disruption if companies like EA pursue too gamer-hostile methods.
