    I just want to say that I don't see any reason why I should hang up my phone call when going through the checkout. I can make eye contact and say hello to the person as well as speak to whoever on the phone. Personally I think it's rather stuck up of the cashier to demand your attention whilst they scan things. It's not the same as a restaurant, when you need to actually speak to someone, or other similar places. Most cashiers I've ever met have barely said a word to me anyway.
