You might be interested in these - not neon, well, not exactly, they're what used to be called flower bulbs and were popular in the 30's & 40's. Contain a mix of argon & neon and the filaments have different coatings to produce different colours. There's a couple of companies that make modern version which you can just stick in any lamp holder ;-)

Amazon sometimes have them, they're usually about a tenner.
