    @Psychotext if it's structural sound transmission then there's probably not that much you can do, it's much harder to sound proof a finished house, rather than add in decoupling as you're building and the results are often disappointing.

    I did some soundproofing last year, as I was doing other work at the time and adding mineral wool batts between the joists in a floor does help with reducing air born noise, but you've got to make sure you fit it everywhere. Does nothing for structural noise.

    I also added layers of mass loaded vinyl + soundproof plasterboard to a party wall, again, has reduced air born noise but does very little for direct structural noise (ie. cupboard doors shutting, switches clicking etc.).

    If your walls are hollow (stud wall with plaster board, etc.) then it's possible that it's acting like a drum and amplifying the noise, in which case adding mineral wool in the void will help reduce it. Will be a messy job as you'll need to remove the current board & redo it all. Unlikely that you'll be able to get rid of it entirely though.
