First impressions after a couple of hours last night: do we actually get to go on an adventure at some point? :(

It's all very clever and pretty and occasionally charming (I liked the attic, that was a nice touch), and it's good to be back in Nathan's company, but it's just so frustratingly slow to get going.

The opening boat chase/shootout was awful, just a really bad way to open the game imo, but thankfully very short. The young Nate level at the orphanage was... ok, but not a patch on the young Nate sequences in UC3.

Everything else, bar the charming little attic scene, I just wished they put in a cut scene or something instead. The salvage diving, the (two!) tedious prison sequences, and now this flipping heist level.

Never thought I'd be this irritated by an Uncharted game, I love them all, but this is taking the slow start to a new level. The set up scenes are usually some of my favourite parts too (bar that shitty museum level in 2).

I'm sure this gets going soon but so far, and for the first time in the series, I'm just barely engaged in what's going on. I actually sigh when it gives me control because the levels are so uninteresting and uninspiring.

And it's not that I want to shoot stuff, I don't, I just want an Uncharted game.

Druckman got too cocky after the success of The Last of Us if you ask me, this is pure over indulgence.

I agree. I had a problem with the pacing. I felt it was slow and was bored at times, I felt like I was playing the vita version, Golden Abyss. I think another problem is Sam, I just don't find him to be an engaging character and the plot line is also a bit underwhelming. However the game really gets going 4 or 5 hours in, the set pieces later are unbelievable.

The boat chase was ok. I didn't feel all that involved. The scene ended unexpectedly. With no boat, I wanted to swim to island and continue the adventure.
