Sorry, I've done my googling, but I have a couple more quick questions for the more knowledgeable. First, this morning I had to do a hard reset of this new laptop. Basically the right-click stopped working on desktop, so I couldn't shut down normally using the Windows icon (and that icon wouldn't respond, so I couldn't transfer to Metro), and the sidebar on the right wouldn't appear. Anyone else had this? Secondly, I've been reading up on ways to recover the data from my broken laptop hdd. I've found these guides: http://www.insidemylaptop.com/recover-files-from-broken-laptop/ http://www.wikihow.com/Recover-Data-from-the-Hard-Drive-of-a-Dead-Laptop Is it really as simple as they make it sound? I just put the drive in a caddy and Win 8.1 will recognise an Win XP drive as just an external harddrive? Cheers. |
