I don't know how long Dark Souls is as have barely made a dent. I don't mind that being long, though - I play that just to see how much further I can get and don't care about much else. A game with a narrative is different, though. If you don't have much time to play, it could have been months (years) since you last heard what your goal was. I've now realised quite a few more games I've finished in the last five years, but most were shorter titles. I think a perfect example of the type of game I have in mind is the original Resident Evil. It's a fairly short game that can be finished in a few hours if you know what you're doing, but enough of a challenge to keep you satisfied. |
