@JoelStinty Danny Wallace as the narrator was a perfect choice too. His voice gave each multi-shaped block a surprisingly humanised character and as daft as it sounds, I got quite attached to them! The soundtrack is so good that I purchased it on iTunes not long afterwards too. The audio was a bit uneven to begin with though, so I popped into the options and moved the master volume down a little and it was perfectly fine from there on. Thomas Was Alone came out within a couple of months of the likes of Guacamelee!, Hotline Miami and Journey ... and it was there and then that my love for indie games begun its gradual rise in appreciation, and what an excellent foursome of games to begin with! Benjamin's Flight, the £1.49 DLC add-on is worth playing if you enjoyed the main game. Benjamin is a brilliantly realised character (he is an older guy who feels like a little kid) and has a rather marvellous jet pack to poot him around. It lasts a good hour or so too, which isn't bad value. As for Transistor, yes, I have read the additional character bios when I used each available limiters and unlocked the function files; a little bit more information, yes, but I still had a few questions lingering in my mind. I'm going through the game again at the moment and some of the narrators early dialogue makes better 'sense' a second time round. After Bastion and Transistor, I am thoroughly looking forward to seeing where Supergiant Games go next. : ) |
