Skyrim, which would fit well into a "recently abandoned, restarted and completed" thread. I got it in a Steam sale (explaining why I'm several years behind). I'd heard that using magic was good but in my experience it really wasn't. I ended up with a character with very powerful magic skills that would get their arse kicked wherever I went. At that point I abandoned it as it became an ordeal of saving, experimenting with a tactic, death and repeat. For some reason I felt like trying it again and went with a more sword/archery character. This time it was a lot better. Without every area being a major struggle it didn't feel too annoying to repeat many of the same missions. I'd recommend it if you like that sort of thing (and don't go for magic too much). |
