There is no reason to like anyone. They are all utterly unlikeable. To root for any of them would be similar to supporting Chelsea.
I never really thought of it like this to be honest.

To begin with, Ciro felt like the natural person to root for and be on his side (of the story) yet as we go ever deeper in the depths of Naples and its Mafia-esque underworld, I find that I abruptly detach from him and his decisions. It is so subtly done that it provokes a feeling of shock.

I dislike Chelsea and (some of) their fans, but I am pretty sure they don't go around killing innocent bystanders! Made me chuckle nonetheless.

I always wear protection neilka, don't you worry!

It's based on a book written by Roberto Saviano and from what I can remember, the comorra wronged his father in some way so he infiltrated the comorra, wrote the book and has been under police protection ever since.
Holy Moses ... so in a way, Gomorrah is retelling a loosely true story then? I would too wish to be under police protection (for life) if I had infiltrated their gang and was the mole all along.

If so, I don't think I can dislike the characters on the television series anymore than I do now!

I was totally and utterly unaware of a second series being produced so I suppose that means this series is not the one-off show I once assumed it was. There's me thinking that I shall hopefully have somebody to root for in the next series...

Glad to see a few others have seen this brilliant show BTW!

    : )

p.s. Only just ordered The Shadow Line on Amazon for a not-too-shabby £7, thank you.
