So I have now Played Rocket League for a couple of hours this morning both docked and undocked and having previously owned it on PS4

On the plus side it played, to me, identically and was a smooth experience where I was equally as shit as i always was.

Docked the graphics are a downgrade on PS4 obviously but nothing that stopped me enjoying the game. It helps that i never really get bogged down in achieving the highest graphical fidelity.

Undocked I was pleasantly surprised when I first started playing as was expecting a graphical disaster judging by some online comments however it was perfectly playable if a little low resolution. However later I played a different stadium 3 v 3 and this did look noticeably worse. Nothing that stopped me playing and enjoying it including at least 5 "this will be my last game.. oh go on one more"

I tried fiddling around with different settings - so tried tabletop with one joy-con - as fiddly and playable as other games that play that way - I am fine, my chubby fingered friends perhaps not. I was on my own but tried checking out split screen. Half a switch screen is of course tiny so not sure how much you could tell going on 3v3 would be. But have played Mario kart like that successfully. However to go split screen it would appear you have to have another user on your switch, even to play offline which seems annoying. To play online that user would need a linked Nintendo account.

Rocket league is the only game where when i am trying to stretch a jump for the ball i physically move myself and the controller like a kid playing games. I must look a prize idiot.

Here's hoping they continue support as promised and can boost graphical performance to match the enjoyable gameplay. Even if they don't I am a happy owner.
