I use to mill out the cartridge slots on Super famicom's for a US cart to fit during my engineering apprenticeship I even made a lovely jig to hold everything nice and firm to prevent machining chatter for a clean cut, nice little earner back then at £10 pop and hell of a lot neater than the butchered approach.
I also had a thing going with a local import dealer when they were relevant repairing Dreamcast shoulder triggers as they were pretty weak, amazing what I could do with a terminal block and a heated pin to make a new hinge, especially as I'd charge £5 per trigger and I nailed it down to about a 5 minute operation. my bodge err quality repair was actually stronger than the original design.
Yeah hacking up a super famicom is definitely an authentic retro experience. you don't fancy coming round and sorting mine out do you? |
