    This isn’t really true at all. In fact, schools have increasingly prioritised ‘soft skills’’ like critical thinking over facts for a while now. It’s a bit of a fad.

    The problem is that all research has shown that skills are domain specific. So being great at critical thinking in History doesn’t mean you’lol be great a critical thinking in Art.

    People actually need more facts. It allows them to think more critically. You can’t think critically about things of which you have no knowledge. Think of Gary Neville and a sports phobic Shakesphere professor. Both can analyse things. But very domain specifically.
