I’ve flown a helicopter before and was one of the scariest things I’ve ever done. That said I would do it again. My instructor did state that the US takes a much more lax approach to helicopter safety and maintenance which does begin to ring true given stories such as this, the one in the Grand Canyon, New York, etc. An acquaintance of mine was also in a crash in Indonesia... because it ran out of fuel?! A real tragedy, not just for him but for all on board. |
