As plotholey as both the new films are a lot of that comes from trying to squeeze it into the established Alien canon. If it were possibly to switch off from that this prequel series would be a lot more narratively coherent
Absolutely spot on. If this was a new franchise I think people would be a lot kinder to them as well - they'd certainly blow most other sci fi movies of recent years totally out of the water and be much more well received. |
