That's not even the most serious problem, no access to the cohesion fund, loss of all EU research funding, farm subsidies will be gone, etc
Just did my BikeSafe course today. A free course that the police (Met in this case) run where they teach motorcyclists how to not die.
Really good course actually, and was both fun and I walked away feeling safer as a rider. Best bit was the whole passive aggressive "fuck the brexiters" tone of the day.
So many comments from the cops along the lines of "these courses only exist as the EU mandates that members must reduce death rates on the roads. Like fuck we will get the funding after Brexit and the UK govt isn't forced to care about safety" and such things.
They were quite pessimistic about the future and genuinely expect road safety to go down once those nasty people at the EU are not allowed to mandate "reducing Deaths and Serious Life Changing Injuries" as a condition of membership.
