I'm thinking maybe a hard brexit might be best in the long run. When the reality sinks in, a new Government will be elected with a clear mandate to rejoin.|
I can't see any other way around this current deadlock. In principle, I think it would be legitimate to hold a second referendum, but in reality the resentment wouldn't go away and it would - rightly or wrongly - erode trust in democratic institutions, which is a big risk in the long term.
