    regardless - do we have any other indications that the membership supports the leadership's position on brexit? for example, was the leadership ever elected on a 'respecting the referendum' ticket? where they ever RE-ELECTED on the same ticket against someone standing on an explicitly stop brexit platform? was the policy ever ratified at conference?

    but if you believed everything you read in the papers, you'd think the party was in TURMOIL
