I'd need to dig up the article. I couldn't point to details without it.

    On topic... more sunlit uplands!

I assume this applies if there's a deal. If there isn't a deal then NI should just be the same as the rest of the UK.

I honestly think "no deal" would cause less harm to NI than a deal that puts NI outside the rest of the UK's custom area. Even if it means a new wave of Nationalist violence, having 70% of trade having to go through a customs declaration process to reach the mainland is going to cripple the already pisspoor economy here. Never mind having to pay extra for Hobnobs.

If there is a deal and NI is carved off into a discrete customs area, it won't take long for the Loyalist drug-dealers to wake up and start shooting up Catholic schools or whatever counter-productive gesture they think will make their "point".

I just hope people remember the DUP supported the Tories and vote for... for... there really is no (viable, in case anyone suggests Alliance) alternative to the DUP, no matter how sane, progressive, rooted in the 21st Century and not obviously corrupt you are, if you're in favour of the Union.
