The game is amazing. It has a fuck load of content, and the ship gimmicks are awesome. I spent hours arranging missions to Africa and Europe (and South America, I think) and gathering resources and pirates to help me upgrade the ship (some sea battles are fucking difficult). So, so addictive. Besides that, the main game is pretty much classic AC: same exact gameplay, but with tons of mission variety, beautiful scenarios and a lovely soundtrack, if you're into that sort of ambience. I know I am. Still on my top 5 games of this gen.
