I imported demon souls when it first came out and parked it for 1 year after killing the first boss and being stuck with a luck based low health character that was overleveled( I thought the higher the drops of healing items the easier the game). Bought the european release and togheter with the guide I beat the game in a couple of months.

I think not playing it for a couple of days at least is a good idea. You can also farm some levels for more attack power. Its not just the minor boost thats great, it also allows you to interact with the game with a more positive feeling then endlessly dying on a boss.
